I truly enjoyed Michele's presentation. She explained in simple and understandable terms how stress affects the nervous system, which can cause true physical ailments. Before this presentation I never really connected the dots. We cannot deny the strong mind-body connection. As a result, I started being more proactive about observing what's happening in my body and identifying the stressors on any given day. This awareness doesn't take away stress in my life, but it has helped me to cultivate a practice to do things that help me manage my response to stress. I have found that daily walks (especially in nature), yoga, journaling, and talking to trusted friends are paramount to my mental, emotional, and physical health.
